    Byredo: Limited Edition Wooden Box Collection

    Byredo’s 2021 Limited Edition Wooden Box Collection combined art, culture, and sustainable luxury. Inspired by founder Ben Gorham’s heritage, the design featured intricate Madhubani patterns and housed a fragrance, travel spray, lipstick, candles, and makeup. Our goal was to merge cultural artistry with sustainable packaging design, creating keepsakes that reflect both heritage and contemporary luxury.

    To achieve this, we addressed challenges like seamlessly connecting patterns across varied box shapes and sizes while ensuring durability and ease of use. Eye-catching wooden inlays were crafted to secure products, offering both stability and a more interesting unboxing experience. We also smoothly embedded the Byredo logo into the box design for a cohesive finish. This project not only showcased our ability to navigate complex requirements but also reinforced our reputation for delivering high-quality, sustainable packaging that captures a brand’s essence.

    Key design features

    • LOGO INTEGRATION: The Byredo logo and orange band are integrated directly into the box artwork, eliminating the need for tape (for more sustainable and efficient production).
    • PATTERN MATCHING: Madhubani patterns were carefully adjusted to match seamlessly across different sizes and shapes
    • INTERIOR MIRROR: A mirrored lid with articulated hinges ensures smooth opening and prevents strain on the mechanism.
    • WOODEN INLAYS: Light, removable wooden inlays lined with Alcantara fabric guaranteed the products stayed protected while enhancing the unboxing experience
    • SUSTAINABLE WOOD: FSC pine wood was chosen for its natural appeal, efficiency and cost benefits – as well as being a sustainable material choice
